Turtle hatchlings on the move 🐢🌊 This little loggerhead turtle recently made the journey from nest to sea on the mid-north coast. Alongside NSW TurtleWatch - Citizen Science Nesting Program volunteers, we kept a close eye on this nest since discovering it last December, and it’s wonderful to see these little gems make their way into the ocean. It’s nesting season here in the Florida Keys! 🌴 We have been receiving Loggerhead hatchlings, and new Sea Turtle babies over the past two weeks. When a Sea Turtle hatchling is admitted to The Turtle Hospital, it receives a physical exam, is weighed, and given fluid treatment subcutaneously based on its weight, the eyes are then flushed to remove any sand that may still be there from the beach, and after all of that it gets a swim test. ❤️‍🩹 The baby sea turtles are placed in hospital tanks wit

This loggerhead sea turtle hatchling was discovered during a nest excavation at Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park in North Naples, Florida. Unfortunately, this sweet little baby was having a very difficult time crawling to the water. It looked like something was wrong with its front right flipper. So tiny and so innocent. We now have all three species; leatherbacks, loggerheads and greens currently hatching on our 9.5 mile stretch of beach!
