Tile over tile, I see this often. I don't recommend it. New tile usually does not adhere properly. You are also adding increased height and weight, which can cause doors to stick or cabinets to not fit properly. The new tile may not have a strong bond if the old surface is glossy and not properly prepared with a bonding primer or if the old tile isn't stable. Do it right the first time. | Mike Holmes
