⚾️On October 17, 1979 in Game 7, Willie Stargell goes 3 for 4, including hitting his third home run in the World Series, propelling the Pirates to a 4-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. Pittsburgh overcame a 3-games-to-1 deficit to win their 5th World Championship in franchise history. Stargell, who was named the World Series MVP, hit .400 with a record 7 extra-base hits and matched Reggie Jackson's record of 25 total bases, set in 1977. At age 39, Stargell became the oldest player to be name
