What would you do as the third baseman in this situation? With runners on the corners and an extra basehit to the LF wall. There’s two ways to approach this play as the third baseman. First, we know this is a double cut 4 because the runner on third is going to score and so we’re thinking 3 bases ahead of the runner on first. The SS goes out as the relay, 2B backs up, and option 1 is the 3B can be near the bag as the extra cut allowing him to still get to his bag if there’s a play at third. It’s
