The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) requested a compassionate release on Oct. 1 for 86-year-old Ramiro Ruiz of Madera County. Ruiz was sentenced 28 years ago. He is serving a life sentence for repeatedly raping, sodomizing, drugging and chaining up his children.
