ATNR & STNR Reflex Exercise That Kids Actually Enjoy! Wheelbarrow walks aren’t just fun—they’re powerful. 🧠💪 When a child pushes toward a target like this, they’re engaging their neck, arms, and core… but they’re also working through foundational reflexes like ATNR and STNR that could be holding them back. Want to see more of what we do and how it can help your child? Comment “Infinity” below. | Infinity Neuromotor Development Center

It’s all because of a retained reflex called the STNR - symmetrical tonic neck reflex. It’s a reflex that splits the body in half from top and bottom, and it helps to allow babies to learn to crawl forward. When it doesn’t integrate, or mature, that leaves the person’s body movements at the mercy of what their head, neck, and eyes are doing. It’s extremely exhausting! It can be 10 times harder for people with this reflex retained to copy from the board, sit properly in a chair, ride a bike, etc.

Straighten Up: Is the STNR Reflex Impacting Your Child’s Posture? 🧠 Noticing your child slouching or resting their head on their hand? It could be a clue that the Symmetric Tonic Neck Reflex (STNR) hasn’t been fully integrated. Quick Check🔍 All Fours: Have your child get on their hands and knees. Happy Cat: Look up and arch the back inwards. Angry Cat: Then, reverse it, arching the back outwards. Watch for Signs: If you see their elbows buckle during these movements, it’s time for some reflex

Comment “STNR” to learn more about the signs that come with a retained STNR reflex and to also check out a simple test to know if it’s retained. You don’t always have to test your child or students to know if an STNR reflex is retained. Many of the following signs point to retention if the child struggles with: 🤔Attention and Focus (ADHD-like symptoms) 🤔Poor posture and struggles to stay seated 🤔Low muscle tone and prefers to slouch back in chair or lie on desk 🤔Prefers to lie on their tum

Integrating the STNR reflex: First watch my reflex highlights at the top of my page and start with integrating the TLR reflex. ~ The STNR reflex helps your infant learn to move the top half and the bottom half of their body independently from each other. The symmetrical tonic neck reflex is commonly referred to as the “crawling reflex” because it allows your baby to make the transition from lying down to getting up on their hands and knees. ~ The integration of the STNR is reliant on the head po

In this video, we worked on improving an overactive STNR reflex that caused her arms to collapse under pressure. Using low-level laser, vagal nerve stimulation, NeuroSAGE, and targeted exercises, she made incredible progress in just two weeks. We help kids of all ages reach real results! STNR Reflex Test
0:06
Symmetric tonic reflex of the neck (STNR) occurs 6-9 months after birth and is inhibited between 9 and 11 months after birth. If STNR remains present, the bilateral integration is affected. They will find it difficult to use their upper body together with their lower body, each engaged in a different type of move (like riding a bike, having issues reading and writing and most tasks that need bilateral coordination.)How is it tested? The child is sitting on all fours we move his head up/down and w

truggling with Focus or Reading? Let’s Check the STNR Reflex! 📖👀 If your child has difficulty focusing at school or finds reading more challenging than it should be, it might be due to the STNR reflex. This reflex can interfere with eye movement, making it hard to control how the eyes move up and down or converge on close-up objects. How to Test for the STNR Reflex: Eye Convergence Test: Have your child focus on an object (like a paintbrush) 5 cm away from their nose. If they struggle to go cr

When primitive reflexes like STNR, ATNR, and Moro are still active, it’s not just “tight muscles”—it’s the nervous system holding onto patterns it was supposed to let go of. Today we’re using movement, targeted laser therapy, and brainstem work to help Kai’s body start letting go. 🧠 Violet light over T1 helps increase blood flow to the cerebellum—fueling coordination and reflex integration. 🎯 We’re opening up his low back, hips, and neck to reduce reflexive tension and support efficient moveme
