The triple crossover hop test is one of my favourite unilateral power tests. Often used as a return to sport measure following injury, but I love using it as a measure of overall athleticism. The crossover triple hop test is typically used as a return to sport test following a lower limb injury such as an ACL rupture. The goal is to compare the injured limb to the uninjured limb to assess symmetry. We also, utilise this test with our athletes as a lower limb power test. This test measures unilateral power as well as coordination and balance. In addition, their is an aspect of change of direction.
