In 2022, Zoo Knoxville announced that African elephants Tonka, Jana, and Edie will be moving to The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee, as part of their end-of-life care plan. However, moving and elephant is not a simple task. The elephants will make the trip to The Elephant Sanctuary in Hohenwald, Tennessee in a special crate. Before that can happen, the elephants must go through training to become comfortable with the crate. Hear from zoo staff on what it takes to get an elephant roadtrip ready!
