How’s your wrist mobility / control?? For the cleanest jigsaw cuts, I always lock the trigger in place so I can relax my hand which keeps me from forcing the blade through the wood and instead lets me gently guide the blade as it cuts around the curves. Forcing the blade forward through the wood will usually lead to blade deflection one way or another and you won’t have a nice square edge.
