Every year in autumn the reindeer start migrating from the coast to the inland or to the mountains. Why? When the winter comes the snow is much fluffier in the places where the temperatures are colder and it is easier for them to find lichen (their main food) under the snow. However, in springtime, most of the reindeer do not have the same body fat, they are thinner and are not that strong after a long winter. In springtime the migration goes the other way: from the inland or the mountain sides
