Here’s the view inside the National Weather Service Romeoville Doppler radar and a look at its 28 ft. diameter antenna. It's huge! When you track storms on radar across the Chicago area, this is the Doppler antenna which scans area skies. My WGN crew and I had a chance to climb the 100 ft. tower for a look inside the huge radome you see outside the NWS Forecast Office in Romeoville. It was hot in there yesterday! The Forecast Office and the radome are adjacent to the beautiful Lewis University c
